Bottom Line: A nice community park with a simple playground, no frills or wow factor, not much for older kids. 2/5 stars.
The Lyon Park Community Center and playground is owned and maintained by the citizens of Lyon Park. It is open to the public.
The Review:
Lyon Park is a nice, community owned playground nestled in the Lyon Park neighborhood. It’s a lovely green space with an okay playground. The playground features one play structure, most likely designed for ages 2-5.
Alternate view:
The play surface is what I refer to as “dirty sand” and seems to have plenty of neighbor-donated ride on and sand toys.
In addition to the play structure, there are three sets of swings: 4 baby swings, 4 big kid swings, and 1 tire swing
It looks to get some shade in the morning (?), but we were there in the afternoon on a cloudy day.
While this park doesn’t have any amazing features that make it “destination worthy”, it is definitely a great asset to it’s neighborhood.
