Bottom Line: This is an okay neighborhood playground. It lacks bathroom facilities and street parking can be limited. The play structure is ok, but could be improved with monkey bars and swings. 2/5 stars.
The Review:
We logged a lot of time at this park over the spring as my middle child’s soccer practice was held here. The playground is nothing fancy or impressive, but my kids enjoyed it, mostly because when we were there, there plenty of kids running around.
The play structure is pretty typical, probably designed for the 5-12 crowd. It’s features include three slides (one is a straight tube), a fireman’s pole, a crawl through tunnel and some ladder/climbing things.
In addition to the play structure, there is a sandlot with dirty sand. There is also a small gazebo with one picnic table in it.
The sand area also has a rocker toy that looks like a chipmunk.
The basketball half court behind the playground serves as a nice paved surface for ride-on toys.
We were always at this park in late afternoon when the play structure got full sun. However, I drove by in the morning one day and it looks like it gets decent morning shade (let me know if you’ve been in the AM and have a different opinion!).
Overall, this is a nice, typical, but nothing special Arlington neighborhood park. I give it a 2/5 star rating, mainly due to the lack of bathrooms, swings, and updated features. Have you been to this park? Please click to share your rating, and any comments if you have them.
