A while back I shared that I wanted to do more hiking with the kids. Well, we’ve only gone once since then, but I still have high hopes!
In the meantime, I thought I’d share a really cool idea I picked up from my sister-in-law to memorialize the hikes.
Every time you go hiking, grab a rock as a “souvenir” — preferably one with a flat side. Then, bring it home and use a Sharpie to record the details of the hike.
Details to include: Date, Trail Name, Location, and distance.
Our rock collection is still pretty meager, but I look forward to seeing it grow and having a tangible reminder of the outdoor fun we had.
