One of the Joys of Living Near DC

It’s Cherry Blossom Time!  Everyone loves when the Cherry Blossoms are in bloom – I think it is when DC looks its best.  We, like thousands of others, came down to enjoy the blossoms around the Tidal Basin this week.  We went on Wednesday, when the weather was sunny, but still a bit cool in the morning.  Surprisingly, it was not as mobbed as I expected it to be, and we even scored a decent parking spot.

Here’s the pictures from our morning.

Checking out the Tidal Basin, which is still flooded in places, as  you can see on the left.

Stopping by to say hello to Ole George… Mason, that is.

The wonder kids (also my “safety” photo that I took to ensure I had a pic of everybody in case someone got lost).

The ducks and birds were more interesting than the flowers to the kids.

We stopped in at the Jefferson.  Wendy was excited to show off the places we saw on her field trip.

Walking on the cement barriers was another fun activity.

Great cherry blossom pictures. It looks like you had a fantastic time. We went downtown on Saturday when millions of other people did too. This is easily the prettiest time of year in DC. Were you able to score White House egg roll tickets this year? Unfortunately, we did not. Have a wonderful Spring. I hope we see you at GCFs this year. Take care!
