Easter Sunday, we opted to go to a church in our neighborhood, rather than figure out the logistics of going to our regular church service, which was earlier and further away.  Since we were headed to my brother and sis-in-law’s afterwards, staying close to home for the service made life much less complicated.   I got this picture of the kids with their baskets before church.  Not great, but it’ll do.

After church, we headed out to brother Bear’s, where Aunt Melis had a lovely brunch planned, along with an egg hunt.  The kids were eager beavers to snag some more eggs.

I swear this is our “happy” child, but you’d never know it when the camera turns on.

After brunch, there was lots of fun playing in the cul-de-sac.   Kids rode bikes (or gliders)…

… and climbed trees….

And generally just had a fun time.

It started with a cute puppet show – the gal was a pretty good ventriloquist.   This picture was taken from pretty far back.  I should have held onto my camera, with an antsy toddler, I ended up on the floor in the front row with him.

After the puppet show, everyone came outside for the Easter Egg hunt.   They had different areas designated for different age groups.  Mike took Wendy & Sam, and Adam and I went to the little kid area.   He didn’t quite have the hang of “grab as many as fast as you can”.  It was more like, “Oh, here’s an egg.  Let’s open it and eat the candy inside.”

The older kids, who had the parking lot area, knew what to do.

Nonetheless, the boy scored a few eggs and had fun.

He probably enjoyed just playing on the playground more.

Afterwards, we met up with Wendy & Sam, who wanted to do the big wave slide.  Mike took Adam off in search some little kid amusements.  It was a bit of a wait, but both Wendy & Sam love this big slide.  It was a highlight last year too.  They had a couple of other inflatables too, but this was the top draw – the kids did it twice.

Next, we went to the “Funky Hair” station, where Wendy got some pink highlights.

We skipped the pony ride (long wait) and some other amusements and headed inside, where they had some carnival type games.

Wendy was in her element when she discovered the hula hoop contest.

In addition to games, there was popcorn and sno cones and cotton candy a plenty.   By 1:45 or so, everyone was sugared up and getting cranky.  So we hopped in the car and started our drive south to visit Grandma & Grandpa.
