Christmas Memories
Monday December 28, 2009We had a super duper Christmas. And now that 2010 is bearing down on us, I figured I better get these memories chronicled. Prepare for an overload of photos.
This is what the week before Christmas was like …
Sunday: we made decorated a gingerbread house. It turned out pretty good! It was fun to see the artistic [...]

Saturday December 26, 2009One of the things I wanted to do this advent season was memorize Luke 2:1-20 with the kids. I figured if we started December 1st and worked on one verse a day, we’d knock it out well before Christmas. Well, we started off on a good foot, but then Mike & I got less diligent [...]

Maybe it’s because I’m so “green”. Or maybe it’s because I couldn’t get it written as fast I could get my cards out. Or just maybe, I didn’t want to be bound by the limitations of an 8.5″ x 11″ paper.
Whatever the reason, take a look, have a [...]

Saturday December 19, 2009Unless you live under a rock, you probably heard the East Coast got a whopper of a snow storm. Our area got up to 24″; I estimate our house got closer to 15-17″ but it sure felt like more. This is how we spent our snowy day.
By 11am, we had 8″ of snow.
This is what [...]

Monday December 14, 2009There a bunch of blog “carnivals” out there featuring people showing off their Christmas decor, so I thought I would play along. My house is definitely imperfectly decorated, but there are also many parts of my Christmas decor that I love and am happy to share with you! It’s photorific, so go grab a coffee [...]

Tuesday December 1, 2009Tis the season! November is so busy, December always seems to sneak up on me. But we love our advent calendars, so I have to dig out the Christmas stuff in time for the kids to open them up.

Tuesday December 30, 2008We snuck in one last “Christmas” tradition tonight by driving out to see the Bull Run “Festival of Lights”.
(my pictures got a little blurrier when we were moving).
We had everyone decked out in their jammies, so that they would easily transfer straight to bed after the night out. Despite Silas’ claims of being tired…Only one [...]

Like many others, we visited the US Botanic Gardens this holdiay season to check out their “Windows to Wonderland” exhibit – featuring beaucoup trains and other cool stuff. It is open daily from 10am — 5pm and the exhibit runs through January 4th.

Friday December 26, 2008We had a wonderful celebration. We went to Grammy & Grandad’s for Christmas Eve day. There, we hung out with family (my aunts & uncle were in town), along with cousin Owen. Activities included reading lots of books, decorating sugar cookies, and riding bikes. In the evening, we attended the children’s service at our church, [...]
