We had a wonderful Easter Sunday. The kids were excited to come down and check out their Easter baskets.
Note to self: do not wait til the day before Easter to shop for goodies. Despite the slim pickins at Target, the kids were happy with what they got (play doh, noisemakers and Bey Blades were all big hits).
Then we were off to early morning church, where we enjoyed a great sermon by our new pastor. It was nice to worship with Grandma and Grandpa who were in town to celebrate Easter with us.
Family was coming to our house for lunch, but before they got there, we stopped by the Netherlands Carillon by the Iwa Jima Memorial to check out their beautiful tulips. It was challenging to get happy smiles from everyone, but we did the best we could.
Then it was home, get ready for dinner/lunch and company. When everyone got there, we did an Easter Egg hunt in the backyard.
Grandpa was delighted when the kids discovered his secret stash of eggs and everyone was happy with their haul. The kids kept exclaiming, “I can’t believe I got so many eggs!”
Then we feasted, enjoyed family time and a special Easter pageant put on by the kids. It was adorable, and a rather detailed re-enactment of Jesus’ final days. We were impressed.
All in all, it was a wonderful day to celebrate our risen King!
