As the holidays approach, I’m sharing a few gift ideas. These are either products we own and love, or products we would love to acquire.

Gumdrop iPad 2 Case

A Great Gift For: Gadget people with kids

Price: ~$60 at Amazon and everywhere

We got our iPad this summer and ever since, I’ve wondered how long it would take for the kids to drop it and ruin it.  I started looking around for a more protective case for Mike’s birthday, and someone suggested the Gumdrop case.

It’s been a great choice.  While it changes the look from something sleek to something rugged, it does a great job protecting the device.  Here’s the product description:

If you’re looking for the most rugged, durable yet ultimately affordable iPad 2 protection, you found it in the Drop Tech Series iPad 2 Case. Shock absorption, drop protection, extreme ruggedness and hard-core readiness for all adventures, the Drop Tech Series iPad 2 Case specifically conforms to the shape of the iPad 2 and offers multiple layers of protection. This iPad 2 case features a uniquely replaceable, snap-on integrated screen for maximum protection.

We like the rubberized material around the iPad — it actually makes it easier to hold and like that the screen is protected from grimy fingers.   We got the manly looking red/black combo, but it comes in other color combination as well, including white and pink for those desiring for a more feminine look.

You can buy the device on Amazon or direct from the manufacturer.  I heard it used to be sold at Costco but couldn’t find it when I looked.   The pricing seemed consistent everywhere I found it.

What’s your favorite tech gadget and/or accessory?
