We are spending a lot of time at the pool this summer and I’m finding it challenging to pack healthy quick and easy snacks. In general, I hate to buy the pre-packaged stuff because it costs more money and it creates more waste. But I’ve relaxed a little for summertime and found that applesauce cups have been a go-to snack-on-the-go food choice.
The challenge with applesauce is that it requires a spoon. My simple but brilliant tip is:
Use a straw for applesauce instead of a spoon.
I love this because nothing is getting spilled and I don’t have to take home a dirty spoon afterwards. I cut my straws in half, but if you were serving juiceboxes (I don’t… too cheap), you could simply reuse the juice straw. If you are super organized, you could even tape the straws to the cups ahead of time so you don’t forget.
Simplifying snacktime works for me.
