I’ve missed chronicling a couple of activities this February, so now I’m playing catch-up.
In early February, we attended the kids’ school’s Sock Hop Dance. This is usually held in January but was delayed due to a snowstorm.
The kids are encouraged to dress-up in 50s attire. We had an outfit for Wendy. Sam had to make do with a white tee (that happened to be size 2-4 <– tiny on him!).
Some parents get into it as well (I’m not one of them). They hire a DJ and play music in the gym. It’s pretty much insanity and stimulation overload.
The girls enjoy the dancing.
The boys prefer to run wild and tackle each other.
I should note that some of the chasing and tackling was related to Wendy. She was either chasing the boys, being chased, or being vied for by the boys 🙂
One of the highlights for the kids is the hula hoop contest.
Wendy fared better last year. She made the fatal mistake of grabbing one of the smaller hoops.
All the kids had a great time, even the 3 year old.
It was exhausting from a parental perspective but a fun outing for the kids.
