Sock Hop

Wendy’s elementary school has a big “dance” in the winter.  It’s a sock hop and the kids dress up 50s style and basically run crazy.  There is some dancing, but mostly it’s running around wild.  They have food in the cafeteria for sale (pizzas, bbq, ice cream) and a DJ run dance in the gym.  In addition to various dances, there were hula hoop contests, broken out by grade level.  This was a lot of fun to watch – Wendy did a great job!  Her friend C, who is not yet in Kindergarten (her sisters go to the school) participated in the Kindergarten  contest and nearly won the whole thing.

Here’s the pictures from this wild and crazy event:

Sam didn’t last long.

But he had fun trying.

This little boy in red was amazing!  The “finals” for the K kids had to perform with 3 hoops each or they would have lasted all night.

After the hula hooping, we got ice cream.  Wendy was excited to see S.
