Not too long ago, we stopped in to visit Grandad at his work. He works at a marina with lots of boats, so it’s always an exciting place to visit.
We found Grandad on the back deck, over looking the marina. It’s a big operation here.
Grandad had fun taking the kids around, showing them off to all his co-workers. The kids were happy to tag along. After visiting with people, we took a ride on a cool electric golf cart and did a quick tour of the marina.
We drove down to the “boatel” (boat hotel) and checked out all the boats.
They use forklifts to get them down and in the water. Our boat is kept here.
Then we drove around the marina and up to the employee parking lot – so momma could retrieve the cellphone charger and CD she left in Grandad’s car when we borrowed it to go camping.
After the ride, we came back in and got to check out one of the boats in the showroom.
Future skipper!
It was nice to just chill in the bow, without being jostled by all those pesky waves
This boat comes with it’s own port-a-potty. How handy for boating with pre-schoolers! It also strikes me as an excellent time-out corner for the child in need of discipline (purely coincidental that *this* child is the one demonstrating…)
All too soon, it was time to go. We had hoped to take Grandad out to lunch, but he had a commitment that prevented him from joining us. So, where to dine then? Chick-Fil-A of course!
