Benign Neglect

I subscribe to the view that children can benefit from a term I once heard, “benign neglect”. The idea being kids can flourish without hyper attention and direction. Certainly they require some level of supervision, but in the summertime, I like to take it easy and let the kids set their own pace. Lately, we’ve been home in the morning waiting for various workers and the kids have been entertaining themselves while I’ve been downstairs. Today, I decided to let you discover with me, what they had been up to:

On the whole, it could have been a whole lot worse.
