All of our kids have acquired various nicknames in the course of their short little lives. Many of them don’t really “make sense”, but seem to fit. Adam’s current nickname is “the Baby Monster.” I think he earned the title when he first started walking – he would lurch around with his hands up in the air like a drunken Frankenstein. Or maybe it’s because he travels through the house wreaking havoc and destruction wherever he goes. At any rate, it fits.
Here’s a few pictures of him toddling around the backyard a few weeks ago. He reminds me of a Weeble (“Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down!”):
When he’s not wobbling around, he’s into EVERYTHING. Climbs on the couch, the kids craft table, and any other surface he can. Loves to sneak into the bathroom and unroll the toilet paper, climb up the step stool to the sink, or splash in the water. Sometimes he doesn’t make it to the bathroom and stops at the dog’s bowls to sample and mingle the kibble with the drinking water. He also LOVES balls. Way more than Sam ever did. In fact, he’s only got a handful of words and one of them is “BAAH!” (ball). Other words include: “Momma”, “Dada”, “Hi!”, and “Tee Tu” (thank you). He can also use sign language to say “More” “Please” and “all done”.
He still eats like a horse — assuming it’s something he thinks he likes. If I put food on his tray that he doesn’t think he likes, he’ll chuck it over the side to the waiting Logan without even trying it. I still can’t get him to fruit as a finger food, other than bananas (he rejects strawberries, apple, melons, grapes, etc.). But if it is is pureed and spoodfed (like applesauce), he woofs it down. He is also self-reliant. If he’s hungry and I can’t get to him right away, he’ll simply crawl/walk over to his diaper bag, dig through it until he finds a half-eaten bag of goldfish, dump it on the floor and proceeds to feed himself.
The name Adam means “happy” and he most definitely is. He continues to be laidback and self-content. His name also means “blessed” and we most certainly are by having him in our family. Here’s a few more pictures of “the Baby Monster.”

He’s just the cutest Weeble there ever was! Love the pics–I’m sure they don’t do his happy, busy personality justice, but it’s a fun peak at a day in the life….
