Yesterday, March came in like a lion, bringing about 6″ of snow to our area.  Apparently, everyone in the Metro DC area was clued into the fact that snow was coming as early as Saturday evening, except me.  I wondered why the lines were all 10 carts deep at the grocery store when I dashed out for a few dinner items Saturday eve…

Anywho, school was canceled, so we enjoyed a lazy day inside.  I even made French Toast for breakfast, which is real treat, since my usual routine doesn’t get any fancier than toasting bagels and dishing cereal.

After playing inside for a while, the kids were ready to run outside, anxious to collect snow to make snow shakes (I think we have started a new tradition).  I knew they wouldn’t last long, and I knew Adam & I wouldn’t be joining them.  So I helped them get bundled up and then watched from the window.  As expected they lasted about 5 minutes, which is only half as long as it took everyone to get dressed.

No worries, the requisite snow had been collected, so they were satisfied.  We spent the rest of the afternoon in, playing round the house.

Daddy came home a wee bit early to take the kids out for sledding.  The weather at 5pm wasn’t any warmer than it had been at 11am, so again, they didn’t last long, but I’m glad they got to experience it.  I would have liked to have come, but again, I had nothing for Adam to wear and it was his dinner time.

So we skipped, but I can’t wait until he’s a little bigger (and the weather is not quite so frigid) so we can all enjoy the snow together.
