We love to stop at Chick-fil-A whenever we travel. We love that the food is good and that they have awesome play areas for the kids to burn off steam on a long drive. We got our fill of CFA the week of Valentine’s. It started on Monday, when I drove out to Chantilly to visit with two dear friends from college. Then on Saturday, on our way down southern VA, we hit the CFA in Culpepper. When we pulled in, Wendy exclaimed, “Oh no! Not Chick-fil-A!” We had no idea she had such an aversion. Then, on the way back home, we hit the same CFA in Culpeper again (and again, Wendy protested loudly. to no avail).
After eating, we turned the kids loose to play in the almost empty play area. Adam had been bopping around the bottom, but I got a wild hair and decided to take him up into the play structure. I knew he would love it up there, so I took him up and brought my camera. As I expected, he had a blast. I put Wendy in charge of him and headed back down. I gave her instructions to CAREFULLY help him down the slide. She did, though not quite the way I expected. Regardless, he had a blast and went back up again (with big sister’s help).

Near our house, not far from church, a gas station and 7-11 were torn down this weekend. Chris asked me what I would most like to see go up on the now vacant space. Without hesitation I said, “A stand alone Chik-fil-A with an indoor playground.” I can always hope, right?
