I better get this post in before the Christmas stuff takes over.  Sweet, silly, busy Adam is 11 months old!

Stats:

Length: ?  (dunno, will wait for the official measure at 12m)
Weight:  22 lbs -> 50th percentile

Our baby is chunkin up!  His voracious appetite continues – mostly for table food.  He is starting to turn his nose up at the pureed stuff.  He will eat and and eat and eat.  He will cry if he is in his chair and there is no food on the tray.  But usually, when you clean him up and get him down, he is happy, and his little belly is swollen with food.   “Full as a tick”, Grandpa would say.   I’ve started him on whole milk and he seems to like it — although it is a messy endeavor b/c he likes to fill his mouth with milk, then open it and let it drizzle down his front.  I’m still nursing, but only barely.   Just a couple of times a day now.

Teeth: Still 8, but several seem posed to break through.

Sleep: He is back to sleeping like a champ.   Takes 2 naps if he gets the chance (if I’m out and about, he just has to roll with it).  Generally sleeps at night from 6pm – 7:30am.

Mobility: he is still a mover and a shaker.  I thought he’d be walking by Christmas, but no such luck.  I can’t believe it will be long now – he seems really close.  He can cruise furniture like a champ and can climb our stairs to the second floor in about 30 seconds (carefully supervised, of course!).

Here’s a quick funny Wendy story.   She was “keeping an eye on him” while I sat at the computer for a few minutes one day and he was getting into everything.  She kept dragging him across the room to keep him out of things and he would speed crawl right back to whatever he wanted.   After a few minutes of this, she exclaimed, “Shew, that baby is wearing me OUT.”  Me too, sista :)

Communication: Adam continues to baby talk.  He is especially fond of saying “Dada”.   We’ve been working for a few months on signing with him – focusing on “more” and “please” at mealtime.  He finally gets it and can make the motion now.  In fact, he’s quite emphatic about “more” when he’s hungry.  He can’t do “please” yet, but I think it will come with time.  I’ve tried to teach him the sign for “all done” as well, but I think they very concept, let alone the motion is foreign to him.

I might go one, but it’s late.  Here’s  a few more pictures of our crazy baby.

Messy milk mouth babe.
