Pumpkin Pickin

On a beautiful Columbus Day, we headed out to our CSA, Great Country Farms to pick a pumpkin and to enjoy their farm one last time for the season.  It was a gorgeous day, and we had a great time.  Here are some of the highlights.

Tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch:

The countryside is beautiful.  The farm owns the winery up on the hill.

Pumpkin Pickin is Hard work!

I look forward to comparing these pictures with future ones…

I tried so hard to cute a picture here.  I had grand visions of it going on the “October” page of next year’s calendar.  This was the first shot I took.

And it was the best of the bunch.  Wendy has a death grip on Adam because there was a crack between the hay bales that he kept falling into.

We watched their pig races and learned that none of these pigs wear lipstick.

They were fun but fast!  “Hamma Montanna” was this heat’s winner.

The last “race” was run by a goat named “Bailout” (because he liked to jump the fence).

Wendy reported that her favorite activity was watching the dinosaur “P-Rex” eat pumpkins.

“Cubby Bear” enjoyed his trip to the farm too.. even if he did spend the majority of it stuffed in the bottom of the stroller.
